Not a traditional
Club, this club explores the trails used in our camping books and maps.

The Phoenix
Gold Mine, Idaho Springs, Clear Creek County, Colorado
We had a great trip Touring the Phoenix Gold mine. Hard Rock miners pioneered
the mountains of Colorado and this tour gives an accurate vision of hard
rock mining in the 1800's. With working miners as tour guides, no question
is left unanswered for lack of knowledge! For Map and contact information,
click on the link below.
Or call (303) 567-0422
Visit The Phoenix
Gold Mine web site for all the information you need to take a tour of your
own. They also offer gold panning and picnic grounds. Learn about Mining
in the Clear Creek area for the last 100 years! Be sure and tell your guide
that Colorado Style Publishing sent you! Schools and large groups welcome!

Always be prepared
for any kind of weather. Sometimes you just have to be in the right gulch!
Though this was a predictable time of year for at least some snow, remember
it can snow in June, July and August too!
